How to set up security for your home network router?

After what i "suffer" this afternoon, i decide to share with you guys who intend to setup network password for their home linksys router...next time you can DIY yourself and no need to ask for help.......

Step 1: U need to access to your linksys router......the IP to linksys router is http:/192.168.1.1/ Just type this IP in your address bar and click go.......it will enter your linksys router.......then they will prompt you for your username and password. Please leave username blank and password is admin.....so far so good?.....good....

Step 2. after you enter the password, the router screen will be something like below...

Step 3: Then click on the "wireless" tab as shown on the picture below...in the box beside "Wireless Network Name (SSID)"...key in your network name that you like e.g. "ABCDE"

Step 4: Under the "wireless" tab.....click on the option "wireless security".....then key in 10 digits(e.g. 1234567890) in the box beside "key1 "...........this 10 digits will be the password to your network.....pls confirm the security mode is WEP.......leave other option blank or as it is ok..............then save setting........

Step 5: Congratulations ...now your network security passwork is enabled.....you can search for your wireless network (e.g. ABCDE) and access it using the 10 digits password (e.g. 1234567890) which you set earlier......

Easy right? Now u are network security expert already........heehee
