My current punggol flat :-)Allow me to give a short introduction to myself.
I live in punggol for more than 5 years. At february 2007, we saw a balloting exercise for clementi flats. We go ahead for the ballot.....with a "play play" attitude.......
But why clementi? Not Bukit Merah, Queenstown or marine Parade.....Erm, i dont know why.....maybe its becos i study polytechnic and university near clementi, so got some feeling there. I remember always when my bus pass by clementi central, i always hope that my home is at clementi heights......so near to central, swimming pool, indoor/outdoor stadium, polytechnic, university.......when theres a ballot for a HDB unit at clementi heights, i simply cannot resist this temptation.....
At May 2007, we were told by HDB, that we got a chance to buy a clementi unit..........i mean a chance cos my queue number is 192 but theres only 106 units available for the ballot.............i called up HDB but the HDB officer told me not to pint too high hopes of having a unit there cos my queue number not very encouraging. Anyway we waited patiently for our chance, day by day, the units we desired got taken up. Our chance of ending with a clementi flat dont seems too good.
I took leave on 20 June 2007 for my HDB appointment day, i woke up in the morning, take a look at the teletext....kind of sad cos i see only a few units left knowing my HDB appointment is 10am........i go back to sleep.......maybe its god will...........i woke up at 930am.............my gut feeling tells me and my wife to go HDB for a try............i reach HDB at 10 am exactly.............last 2 units left for chinese.....the couple infront of me go in.............left last 1...............i walk in to the HDB officer feeling confused......should i take it or should i wait? The HDB officer tells me if i really feel confused, i should give up cos mature estate have another exercise at August. Lucky i never heed his "good" advice. I tell u guys why later. I told my wife that we should take this last unit and pay the booking fee of $2000. I do it partially also becos i saw a few chinese couples standby to buy if i dont.............
so we got our unit..........a very happy feeling..........if few years ago when i am taking the same bus to poly or uni, u tell me i got a chance to buy a unit at clementi heights.......i will never believe it.............We happily pay our deposit. But paying the deposit for the unit is only the first step to the long long journey.........
